Many strange ingredients go into beauty products, both synthetic and natural, but one of the very strangest we’ve come across recently is Colostrum. That’s the thick, nutrient-rich milk all baby mammals get from their mothers in the 24 hours immediately following their birth. And apparently it’s so good for your skin it’s been used as the main ingredient in the Immupurerange.

Immupure founder Detlef Fuhrmann got the idea for the range when he heard how farmhands who worked with cows and their newborn calves had miraculously blemish-free hands. That was because they were coming into contact with Colostrum which is packed with immunglobulines, polypeptides, aminoacids, vitamins and minerals.

Immupure featured in this month’s Vogue Beauty News section:

NEW York socialites are snapping up Immupure, a new anti-ageing skincare line that uses the colostrum (or first milk) produced by cows nursing their newborns. Colostrum is full of essential vitamins and nutrients, and Immupure have combined the nutritious milk with aloe vera to create a range of anti-ageing serums and moisturisers. Used daily the Immupure line aims to boost the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin, helping to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, repair sun damage and generally perk up the skin no end. Although controversial, the cows used by Immupure are reportedly steroid-free and calves are said to be properly fed before the colostrum is extracted. Perhaps “bovine beauty” set to be the next big thing.

The anti-aging potion New York’s ladies are going mad for…

Immupure’s Microinjected Wrinkle Smoothing Serum is having a major moment in New York’s Henri Bendel store. It’s key ingredient? Colostrum.

Yep, that’s right – it’s the first milk a mother breastfeeds her newborn. It takes the quest for baby-soft skin to a whole new level but hey, Manhattan’s Upper-East Side clearly have no problem slathering their skin in the creamy stuff – rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals, if it means a reduction in wrinkles.

It hits our shores soon, but in the meantime you can get it shipped from immupure.com.

This anti-ageing miracle serum is a must for anyone who can’t resist trying the latest skincare fad.
