Immupure moisturizers are uniquely formulated to promote natural functions along 4 mechanisms of action:

Skin Barrier Improvement
The skin naturally provides an effective barrier between the body and the environment preventing the invasion of pathogens and fending off chemical and physical assaults, as well as unregulated loss of water
Virtually all dysfunctions of the epidermis whether inborn or acquired, are associated with a notable modification in the permeability barrier
Emollient ingredients are carefully selected and formulated to influence skin physiology by exerting many effects on the skin barrier such as eicosanoid production (which are pro and anti inflammatory agents), membrane fluidity and cell signaling, helping to direct improvement in the skin repairs mechanisms and thus playing a role in preventing skin ailments and aging.
Water Retention
The role of ingredients we call humectants is to attract and bind to water maintaining adequate skin hydration. They serve 3 major functions:
1. Maintain skin plasticity promoting protection from damage
2. Incite natural skin turnover (desquamation)
3. Contribute to skin barrier functions
Humectants draw water from the deeper skin layers onto the surface. In so doing, they need to be used in conjunction with occlusive agents.
Occlusive
These ingredients assist in preventing evaporation of water and reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) from the skin by forming a barrier. This allows the replenishment of the water by humectants limiting evaporation in the environment.
Nourishment / Replenish
UV light, environmental pollution and daily stress generate reactive oxygen stress (ROS), inflammation, and other skin damages. This occurs as direct chemical alterations of the cellular DNA, the cell membrane and cellular proteins including collagen.
Carefully selected vitamins and minerals derived from botanical and marine extracts are added to Immupure’s moisturizer to fight inflammation and oxidation as well as aging processes nourishing the skin and promoting cellular health.
Moreover, our moisturizers are filled with Immupure’s proprietary colostrum which is rich in amino acids and growth proteins that act to fight aging and improve cellular functions.
